Is the NHS a good career option?

I left working the NHS just over three years ago, as I was unhappy with working for the particular team and NHS trust that was employed with. However, I now work for a different organisation, which is making staff cuts, and my job role is at risk of redundancy. Has the NHS got any better as an employer in the last three years or will it be the same?
As much as I respect the brave men and women, I could not fight in what I believe is an unjust war. Besides, I would be taking a huge paycut to join the armed forces.

Put it this way, in a recession your job in the NHS won’t be affected and you may get a better team towork with next time round.
