"I quit!"
In movies, people leave their miserable jobs with great fanfare. It opened a door, pull his letter of resignation in the face of the head and then the storm, often to applause from his colleagues equally dissatisfied with the work.
May work only in the movies. But in real life, if you really want to leave their work, whatever the reason, you need a good exit strategy.
Why?
Well, whenever possible, want to leave on good terms. Do not "burn bridges", as they say. I know it might seem unlikely to ever face these people. But karma dictates that if left in a state of high drama, anger and bad feelings, these people are back to haunt you. I Guaranteed. like either, but that's just how the universe works.
Three pointers to create a strategy for a smooth transition:
1) Never leave your boss and colleagues in the lurch.
In other words, do not schedule their departure, when the office is in the year of some magnitude. That's courtesy. And if you plan your day and suddenly hear that a project is imminent, they need the equipment to ascertain their plans immediately so that arrangements can be made.
2) If your boss is on vacation or out of town for any other reason except his resignation for his return.
You never want to return to a note on your desk or worse, an assistant to his exaggerated dramatic RE telling how he left the employment.
3) Do not give up its cold and impersonal.
Putting your resignation writing is a good idea and will help you strengthen your own mind why left work. But this is not so good idea to stop there. Whatever the circumstances, I think you must notify your employer or supervisor verbally, in person, face to face. Of course, it might be uncomfortable. But to return. That's life.
Just as important as developing your exit plan is forming a 30-day strategy that will kick into high gear as soon as you’re on your own. My eBook “Fire-Up Your Cash Flow Over A Donut And Coffee” details just such a strategy. Grab a FREE copy at http://www.fireupyourcashflow.com
