The following data were collected by a Toronto-based Academy classes during the school year 2005/2006 and provides a summary of 169 students and what issues are framed In These data provide a good summary of the relative demand for classes in various subjects in a North American city great. Although not a perfectly representative sample and application of different topics may vary by city, also provides information that may be useful to determine what topics and skills to offer.
Students:
The division between students of both sexes is almost equal, with 49% of men and 51% of women. Students are divided between the different educational levels, with 25% K-6, 15% for grades 7-8, 57% of classes 9-12 and less than 3% at school / college.
Topics:
Below is a list of the most popular topics of mentoring and their relative frequency in this group.
Math … 77 students (45.6%)
English … 37 students (21.9%)
Mathematics and English … 27 students (16.0%)
Math and science … 18 students (10.7%)
Science … 7 students (4.1%)
French … 3 students (1.8%)
Results:
Math is by far the main issue popular, with 45.6% of students who need tutoring in math only, and another 26.7% who require tutoring in mathematics and another subject.
It is available in English as a Second In contrast, almost 30% in the need for classes in English and 16% require tutoring in math and English.
The third science reaches far behind with only 4.1% need for mentoring in science alone, and another 10.7% who need tutoring in math and science.
The demand for private lessons in French is almost negligible, with less than 2% in need of tutoring on the subject.
What is the meaning from these figures?
These data may provide a useful example of the relative demand for tutoring subjects in a typical small and medium-sized North American Academy of tutoring. Anyone can start a class academy should investigate the demand for subjects and grade level of students for tutoring market. You should carefully consider this information before deciding on the issues and classes that offer tutoring service, so you can make the best use of a scarce resource … their guardians.
For example, if you choose to offer tutoring in all materials and notes, will have to have more available if you have offered math tutors for grades 7-12. And based on the figures, we could probably attract enough students to run a profitable only school supply in mathematics in grades 7-12. Moreover, an academy specialized English classes for grades K-6, probably would not attract nearly as many students as an example prev.
The decision of what topics strikes a balance between what grades and subjects can be handled easily, and should provide for maintaining the activity profitable.
