H- halo – A halo is a luminous ring that is sometimes seen surrounding the sun or the moon
I- IAPETUS – one of the 18 moons of saturn
J – Jupiter the largest planet in the solar system
K- KUIPER BELT – The Kuiper belt is a region beyond Neptune in which at least 70,000 small objects (KBO’s) orbit
L- Larissa – a tiny moon of Neptune
M – MAGELLANIC CLOUDS – The Magellanic Clouds are irregular-shaped galaxies, congregations of millions of stars.
N- Nebula – A nebula is a huge, diffuse cloud of gas and dust in intergalactic space
O- OORT CLOUD – The Oort Cloud is a cloud of rocks and dust that may surround our solar system.
P- Pallas – the second-biggest asteroid and one of the four brightest asteroids.
Q- Quasar (more recently known as a QSO, Quasi-Stellar Object) is a distant star-sized energy source in space with excess of ultraviolet.
R- Radio galaxy is a galaxy that emits radio waves.
S- SAROS – The saros is the roughly 18-year periodic cycle of the Earth-Moon-Sun system.
T- TELESTO – of of saturns 18 moons
U- Umbra – the inner, dark, cool (3700 K = 6600 °F = 3400 °C) region of a sunspot.
V- Vega – (Alpha Lyrae) is a very bright star in the constellation Lyra.
W- White dwarf – a small, very dense, hot star near the end of its life.
X- X-rays – a type of electromagnetic radiation (between ultraviolet light and gamma rays in wavelength, frequency, and energy) – basically, it’s light that is way past the blue-violet end of the visible spectrum – we cannot see it.
Y- Yellow dwarfs – small, main sequence stars. The Sun is a yellow dwarf.
Z- Zodiacal light – a slight glow in the sky that is near the horizon and has a roughly triangular shape.
