How do I remove my old wallpaper (background)?

I like to change my screen quite often with wonderful pictures National Geographic or the Astronomy Picture of the Day website, but I do not want that accumulate on my drive.

wallpaper in the current Windows used are kept in a directory – for WinXP It's somewhere in C: Documents and Settings – Vista is somewhere under C: Users Anyway, if you never actually download the image and instead right-click on it and select "Set as Wallpaper" (while that on a website) – just overwrite the previous one in that directory _
